Corporal Dana Condron, U.S. Marine Corps veteran; Jake Day, Maryland Secretary of Housing and Community Development; and Heather Geraldes, Executive Director for Maryland Veterans Trust each delivered opening remarks, memorializing the events of September 11, and highlighting the importance of community engagement, service, and unity. Volunteers replaced rotten decking boards, replaced a leaking sliding door, and enhanced curb appeal through yard beautification efforts.
Habitat is grateful to volunteers and neighbors who volunteered their time and effort, and to J-Dog Junk Removal for the donation of a dumpster for the day’s work. This Day of Service was made possible through generous funding and support from AmeriCorps through Habitat for Humanity International.
